“Swing Chip Professional (Pro Kit)” is a package of 5 different sized chips for various instruments. Recommended for musicians and engineers who want to acheive a distinctive sound. After being tested by many professional musicians, this button shape was found to be the most suitable for the chip’s resonance and harmony with the instruments. The surface of the Swing Chip is wavy, to better pick up on the resonance frequency of the instrument itself, instead of having a set peak frequency on the chip. It also enhances the effeciency of the instrument to create a more powerful and stable sound.
The right resonance frequency can be achieved simply by adhering this small chip onto the specified area, improving your performance and giving you a richer sound.
Effects and Mechanism
The Swing Chip’s effects on sound differs greatly depending on size and material. The original Swing Chip standard model is 9x3mm in size. This is considered to be the best balanced shape after countless tests, but in order to create a more intricate sound, different sizes are necessary depending on the instruments, their size, playing and recording environments. Thus we have provided you with these 5 different sized chips.
The effects of these chips are, with the 9×3 as a base, muting will be added to vibration control as the chip gets larger, and vibration control will decrease as the chip gets smaller. For small parts such as the switches and volume knobs, the small chips are recommended. For feedback prevention on wood bass and bass drums, the large chips are recommended.
Using an adhesive tape one size smaller than the chip will cause the chip to vibrate wider, creating a different effect.
The Swing Chip reacts differently depending on size and where it is placed. Find your best setting according to your environment.
